Book Review #1: Reading Lolita in Tehran

If you are obsessed with reading as me, we know that the struggle is real to find that amazing book you were looking for since ages, a real book that you can feel.
that was my feeling when i finally found "Reading Lolita in Tehran" at Kinokunyia books store at Dubai, UAE ( their website in case you are looking for original books https://uae.kinokuniya.com).
* Moving to the real talk*
Reading Lolita in Tehran is a memoir in a book written by Iranian author and professor Azar Nafisi. Published in 2003, it was on the New York Times bestseller list for over one hundred weeks and has been translated into 32 languages.
Azar Nafisi is an Iranian writer and professor of English literature. She has resided in the United States since 1997 and became an American citizen in 2008.
She wrote a great books one this one really got me.
i'm so into feminism and this story described every single detail about how does it feel to be a free minded in a very religious country such as iran, our author described the period of war between Iraq and Iran as well as Al khamenei period in Iran, Iranians became so insane during that period, it's about the feeling of emptyness and betraying that you feel when your country is under war, when your home is destroyed and there is nothing left for you to belong to.
when your way of thinking is beyond any universal limits, when you feel afraid even from thinking because you feel others are reading your mind withour even saying a word, that's exactly when the danger alert is one.
I won't spoil more about how amazing this book is and about how much information you'll learn about Iran during Al khamenei period.
I highly recommend it!
